The Buffalo O3 Jacket has quickly become one of my favourite grab-and-go layers. It strikes the perfect balance between comfort, warmth, and packability, making it ideal for those in-between days when a t-shirt alone isn’t enough, but a heavier layer would be overkill.
The first thing that stands out is just how lightweight and comfortable it feels. The combination of the Pertex Quantum shell and Teclite micro-pile lining gives an excellent warmth-to-weight ratio without ever feeling bulky. It packs down really well too, so it’s easy to throw in a bag or running vest without taking up much space.
I’ve mainly been using it for walks and post-run recovery, and it’s been superb at cutting through the wind while still remaining breathable enough to stay comfortable on the move. The wind resistance is particularly impressive for such a light jacket.
The fit and versatility make it a brilliant option for an active lifestyle, whether you’re running, hiking, climbing, or just out and about. I’m especially looking forward to using it more through the cooler months for running, where I think it’ll really come into its own as an ideal lightweight outer layer.
Overall, Buffalo have nailed the brief with the O3 Jacket — lightweight, packable, comfortable, and surprisingly warm for its weight. A genuinely versatile piece of kit.
Absolutely amazing, incredible quality. Worth the price for how long it will last and brilliant British manufacturing.
