We had the privilege of spending time with the Edale and Glossop Mountain Rescue teams at Curbar Edge to talk about all things Buffalo.
No fuss. No fanfare. Just straight-up feedback from people who wear it when there’s no room for failure.
They told us what matters in the worst conditions and we listened.

Like many, I’ve had a few Buffalo products over the years. Mountain shirts mostly! I was after a lightweight jacket to replace an old Montane thing that served me well. Two things have always annoyed me about Buffalo. The okish black, harsh blue and depressing greens and the lack of internal pockets. I know they are function over form and excellent products but let’s face it, we often use our jackets for other things other than climbing mountains etc. a bit of style and some practicalities like an inside pocket can make all the difference. So I jumped at the chance to get the D12 in silver. Sizing is true to the rest of the range and I can confirm that. It is lightweight but warm and comfortable in the way that Buffalo. Jackets are. The inside pocket is big. I am very happy with the purchase. I was also keen to put my money where my mouth is and pay the premium of buying something actually made in the UK. I must say though, the price for what it is, is a bit steep. Having said that, it’ll probably out last me so the cost will be spread over many years. Now Buffalo, any chance you could show the Parka some love for the winter? I’d love one but give it some decent colours and an inside pocket. Please!
I bought this jacket for my partner who has been wearing Buffalo for over 20 years - used in the mountains and walking all over the UK. He is delighted with the new 03 jacket as an alternative to his Special 6 and Belay Jacket in warmer weather. These products are not cheap but they offer decades of service …. Customer service was great - ordered online and delivered the next day.
