The Origins of Pertex®
Born in the late 1970s, Pertex® was the result of a ground-breaking collaboration between Hamish Hamilton, a keen outdoor enthusiast, and Perseverance Mills, a specialist in high-performance fabrics. Hamilton’s vision was simple yet revolutionary: to create a fabric that could wick moisture while remaining lightweight, durable, and versatile. The result was Pertex®, a technical fabric that redefined outdoor clothing.
Beyond Waterproof
We are students of water and its behaviour as liquidand vapour. By understanding capillary action and directing the forces of cohesion, adhesion and surface tension, we engineer Pertex fabrics to movewater away from the body. Our fabrics are primarily transportation systems, not barriers.
