Buffalo Systems by Arran Cross Stitching

Continuous, small batch production.

Functional outdoor clothing made in Sheffield since 1979.

Buffalo operates differently to most outdoor brands.

We make our gear in small batches, with every garment cut and stitched by skilled hands. It’s how we keep control of fit, function and finish - but it also means we don’t hold large volumes of stock.

When a batch sells through, some sizes and colours can be temporarily unavailable while the next run moves through the workshop.

The benefits:

  • Sustainable local manufacturing.
  • Total control over the process.
  • No shortcuts.
  • Craft you can feel in every piece.

Small Batch Production. How it works.

Buffalo operates on a continuous small-batch production model, with many pieces handmade in limited runs to maintain quality and reduce waste.

If an item is currently in stock, orders are processed and shipped as usual. Business as normal.
For styles, colours or sizes that are out of stock, production is ongoing in regular batches, meaning restocks happen continuously.
If your preferred size or colour is unavailable, you can still place your order now to secure your item from the next production batch.
Ordering ahead for out-of-stock items helps guarantee availability from the next handmade batch before it sells through again.

The Approach

This approach allows Buffalo to focus on craftsmanship, flexibility, and more sustainable production, while ensuring popular pieces are consistently being remade.

When we say "built to last", we really mean it.

Every Buffalo garment is designed with meticulous care and crafted with durability at its core. Before sustainability became a buzzword, Buffalo Systems was already committed to creating products that endure.

By designing clothing that lasts for decades, we help reduce waste and minimize the impact on our planet. It’s a philosophy rooted in respect: respect for the outdoors, respect for the craft, and respect for the people who wear our gear.

Built to last. Repaired to keep going.

We’ve been repairing Buffalo gear for over four decades, because we believe kit shouldn’t be replaced when it can be restored. A torn hem or a worn zip shouldn’t be the end of the road.

Our Sheffield team will bring your piece back to life using the same materials and know-how we’ve relied on since day one. It’s better for the planet, better for your wallet, and keeps your Buffalo doing what it was built to do: endure.

If it’s fixable, we’ll fix it.

To arrange a repair, email with a brief description and photos. We’ll guide you from there.
