A friend brought this back from the UK to Canada after raving how great they would be for any outdoor activity in our extreme winters. I was actually surprised with how warm this jacket was when we were out ice climbing and how quickly the shell dries when wet (we got drenched from a melting waterfall that we were climbing one day).
As soon as the temps drop to below 0, I break it out. The only downside I find to the jacket is when I wear a long sleeve shirt the sleeves on the jacket itself snag and bunch up and I have to re-adjust my sleeve/the jacket. Great if you keep moving at our winter Temps (-20 below) but once you stop moving, the chill sets in.
I wish we could get these over here so I could try the warmer ones
Hi Amanda
Great to hear the top works for you. They are designed to be worn next to the skin, so try it without the base layer. This will make it easier to put on, but more importantly, it will most probably stop that chilling, as it’s the moisture getting trapped in the base layer that is making you chill. Of course at -20c we would always advice popping on something like an Alpine or Belay Jacket over the top to keep warm.
Enjoy though.
Regards
The Buffalo Team.
