Buffalo In Finland – No Sweat at -37’c
At the Sheffield HQ we had a lovely email sent through by a customer who has returned from an excellent trip to Finland to climb Saana. Our thanks to Mike Wilkins for taking the time to share his adventure with our team.
Just a quick note to tell you about a trip to Tromso in winter. We hired a car and travelled to Kilpisjarvi in Finland and climbed a well know mountain called Saana. Its approximate height is equivalent to a Scottish munro. Ambient temperature was about -12 but with wind chill it worked out at -37. We both wore full buffalo and this picture is me wearing salopettes and special 6 shirt with a windshirt (no baselayers). I was very comfortable all the way and almost too hot when we were nearly back to the car. We used Buffalo on every snowshoe hike during the week in ambient temperatures to -18 and can thoroughly recommend this kit.
